The East Coast is known for being a historical location. This could be due to the fact that the East Coast is home to the United States capital, Washington, D.C. As guests travel through the East Coast, they come across populated city streets, swampy terrains, and deserted deserts. At America by Rail, we offer a variety of train tours that let riders stop and explore the states and cities throughout the East Coast. Discover what you could see as you ride along our Eastern U.S. Train Tours.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Two of our Eastern train tours visit the city of spicy food and amazing tunes. While aboard on the America from Coast to Coast tour, you will be able to see the famous Bayou of New Orleans, a swamp-like terrain.

Greater New Orleans area: The lifestyle in the Greater New Orleans area is one that cannot be beaten. It is a very popular place to visit because it acts as if it is on its own island.

City Park: This park has been around since 1854, and it is just as live as the city of New Orleans. There are plenty of gardens and activities for guests to enjoy during their visit at City Park.

French Market: The French Market is a cherished 6 blocks of markets and shops. In addition to shopping, they offer events, dining areas, farmers markets, and flea markets.

Washington, D.C.

If you take our Take Me Out to the Ballgame train tour, you will have the opportunity to view the White House. There are other historical monuments, museums, and locations to see when you visit Washington, D.C. Our train tours allow you to get off and view these amazing historical locations.

National Postal Museum: This museum is a collaborative project between the U.S. postal service and The Smithsonian. Guests get to learn about postal history and also view other exhibits.

Korean and Vietnam Memorials: The Korean memorial highlights the lives that were lost in the defense of our country. The Vietnam memorial is filled with the names of the lives that were lost during the Vietnam War.

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum: At this museum, guests can explore the history behind flight and space travel. Each exhibit has either something educational, informative, or interactive.

St. Augustine, Florida & Key West, Florida

St. Augustine is America’s oldest city, so of course it is very historic. Only two hours away from St. Augustine is the Kennedy Space center, another very popular location in Florida. Key West is another beautiful and popular location in Florida.

Overseas Highway: This unique highway lets guests get to and from the Keys while overlooking coral reefs and aquatic life. It is one of the more scenic highways in Florida that visitors love to drive on.

Mallory Square: Mallory Square offers the best location for all of the things to do in Key West. Do you want to see the best sunset spot in Key West? Go to Mallory Square.

Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum: This is the home of the legendary author Ernest Hemingway. Guests can take thirty minute tours to view his inspirational home.

New York

Our train tours cross through upstate New York. Riders aboard also get to see the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains out of their windows. If you come aboard our Take Me Out of the Ballgame train tour, you will have the option to visit Cooperstown, New York, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Central Park: Everyone knows of Central Park as it is all throughout popular culture. This is still a popular location that tourists and locals enjoy.

Times Square: This is another well-known location that people need to see at least once in their lifetime. Times Square is full of life, tall buildings, and hundreds of billboards.

The Empire State Building: This is one of the tallest buildings in New York and a popular place for tourists. Inside, guests can see a full view of New York. Outside, guests can see the color that lights up the building at night.

The East Coast is all together a special place, and there is no better way to view it than by train! Vacation through the East Coast today to take one of our Eastern U.S. train tours and discover the historical culture of the East Coast.
